Excerpts from the speeches of the 2012 Celebration of Urban Youth Speakers:
Zorita Moore "I am glad that I was connected with an organization that gives youth opportunities that they wouldn’t normally have. YouthCARE has changed me and impacted my life in a very positive way. YouthCARE gave me the freedom to be me, to learn, to be a leader and how to have fun."
Sondra Ciesielski "YouthCARE gave me the confidence to reach out and make a difference in the lives of others. YouthCARE also gave me the courage and comfort to be myself. I consider YouthCARE to be my second home – it’s a place where I can go and be around uplifting and inspiring people who always encourage you to do your best."
Chee Ge Xiong "As I grew up I found myself wanting many more things in life. I envied some of my friends as they were putting in the effort to find a job and explore the possibilities in their life. It wasn’t until 2009 when I became a Camp Sunrise Junior Counselor that I finally realized that I had to work for what I wanted in life."
